Untitled (1984) is a large painted wooden panel produced for Haring’s project at Galleria Salvatore Ala in Milan. Executed in enamel on constructed board, the work belongs to a group of panels developed in the same year as the FDR Drive mural, translating his wall-scale, frieze-like compositions into a single portable support. The panel compresses a field of contiguous, interlocking figures into a fixed frame, preserving the sense of scroll-like progression found in his public works while reformatting it for frontal, gallery-based viewing.
